Quick Skillet Chard

  1. 1 lb rainbow Swiss chard
  2. 2 T olive oil
  3. 1 large garlic clove, minced
  4. 1 t fresh oregano, chopped or 1/2 t dried oregano
  5. 1/2 t salt
  6. 1/4 t pepper
  7. 2 T toasted sliced almonds


  1. Remove stems from rainbow Swiss chard; and chop stems into 1 inch pieces.
  2. Tear chard leaves into bite size pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high.
  4. Add garlic and cook, stirring often, until starting to brown, about 1 minutes.
  5. Stir in chard stems.
  6. Cook, covered, until just tender, about 4 minutes.
  7. Stir in chard leaves, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  8. Cook, uncovered, stirring often, until leaves just wilt but are still bright green, about 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Sprinkle with almonds.
