Pre-Notes
This is a great recipe for a cookout! The recipe can easily be adjusted to make more chops!
The sauce is very flavorful, don't oversauce the chop!
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 T brown sugar
- 3 T honey
- 3 T soy sauce
- 3 T Worcestershire sauce
- 2 t ketchup
- 1/2 t ground ginger
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1/4 t ground cinnamon
- 1/8 t cayenne pepper
- 1 T corn starch, optional
2 (6 oz) thick cut boneless pork loin chops
Instructions
- Mix the garlic, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, ginger, onion powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Pour half the mixture into a large plastic zipper bag, and place the pork chops into the marinade. Squeeze the air out of the bag, and seal the bag.
- Refrigerate 4 to 8 hours, turning occasionally. Refrigerate remaining marinade in the bowl.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Remove the pork chops from the plastic bag. Discard the marinade from the plastic bag.
- Grill chops on the preheated grill, basting with a small amount of the reserved marinade until meat is browned, no longer pink inside and shows good grill marks, 8 to 10 minutes per side. A meat thermometer inserted inserted into the thickest part of a chop should read 145°F.
- Meanwhile, pour remaining marinade into a saucepan over medium heat, bring to a boil, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook the marinade until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring occassionaly. (If you prefer a thicker sauce, combine 1 T cornstarch and 2 T cold water in a small container. Stir into sauce and bring to a boil.)
- Serve sauce with chops.
