Mint Juleps

Ingredients
Mint Infused Simple Syrup
- Fresh mint (a nice big bunch), rinsed and dried
- 2 c of water (preferably purified)
- 2 c sugar
Mint Julep
- premium bourbon whiskey (we like Blanton's or Maker's Mark)
- crushed ice
Instructions
Mint Infused Simple Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine water and sugar and boil together for about 5 minutes until it is clear. stirring occasionally.
- Place 1/4 c of the mint leaves in a glass container, pour the simple syrup over them and allow the mixture to cool (the longer the better for the best minty flavor).
- Refrigerate overnight, if possible.
- Remove the mint from the syrup, store in refrigerator till needed.
Mint Julep
- When ready to serve, half fill a julep cup with crushed ice.
- Add 1 Tablespoon of the syrup to the cup.
- Add 2 oz of bourbon to the cup.
- Filll to the top with more crushed ice.
- Stir, and garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
- Enjoy!
