Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  1. 5 lbs Russet Potatoes, peeled andquartered
  2. 1/2 c milk, 122 g
  3. 1/4 c unsalted butter, 1/2 stick, 2 oz
  4. 1 t salt

Instructions

  1. Place the potatoes in a large pot with enough water to cover by 2 inches.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat; then reduce the heat to low and simmer until fork-tender, about 25 minutes.
  3. Drain thoroughly, until completely dry.
  4. Place the potatoes in a bowl, and while they are still hot, add the milk, butter, and salt.
  5. Mash with an electric mixer or potato masher until well combined and smooth.
  6. Serve immediately.
