Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 c sugar
  2. 1/2 t salt
  3. 1 t ground cinnamon
  4. 1/2 t ground ginger
  5. 1/4 t ground cloves
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1 (15 oz) can 100% pure pumpkin
  8. 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  9. 1 unbaked 9 inch (4 c volume) deep-dish pie shell
  10. whipped cream for garnish, if desired.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat eggs in a large bowl.
  4. Stir in pumpkin and sugar mixture.
  5. Gradually stir in evaporated milk.
  6. Pour into pie shell.
  7. Bake in preheated 425°F oven for 15 minutes.
  8. Reduce temperature to 350°F; bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
  9. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours.
  10. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
  11. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
