Candied Walnuts

    Substitute other nuts such as pecans.


  1. 1/3 c sugar
  2. 1/3 c brown sugar
  3. 1 t ground cinnamon
  4. 1/4 t salt
  5. 1 egg white
  6. 1 T vanilla
  7. 1 lb walnut halves


  1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Mix sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl.
  3. Whisk egg white and vanilla together in a separate bowl until frothy.
  4. Toss walnuts in the egg white mixture.
  5. Mix sugar mixture into walnut mixture until walnuts are evenly coated.
  6. Spread coated walnuts onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes, until walnuts are evenly browned, 1 hour.
