Hershey Kiss Cookies

    Rember to allow time for the dough to chill.


  1. 1 c butter softened
  2. 1 c sugar
  3. 1/3 c brown sugar
  4. 1 egg room temperature
  5. 1 egg yolk room temperature
  6. 1 t vanilla extract
  7. 2 c. flour
  8. 2/3 c. cocoa powder
  9. 1/2 t baking soda
  10. 1/4 t salt
  11. 55 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
  12. 2 T sugar or sprinkles for rolling optional


  1. Mix butter, sugar, and brown sugar with a hand mixer on medium until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg, yolk and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
  4. Add dry mixture a little bit at a time to the butter mixture until well combined.
  5. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. Divide into 55 balls, about 3/4 inch.
  8. Roll in sugar if using and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Bake 7-9 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and cool 2-3 minutes.
  11. Press a kiss into the center of each cookie and remove it to a cooling rack.
  12. Cool completely.
