Chocolate Bark

    If you use packaged chocolate bark, omit the shortening or oil.


  1. 1 (11.5 oz) bag, white, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
  2. 1 T vegetabe oil or shortening
  3. various mixins and toppings: such as toasted nuts, toasted coconut, M&M's, chopped candy bars, toffee bits, and sprinkles


  1. Line a 10x15-inch pan or baking sheet with silpat or wax paper.
  2. Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
  3. Add shortening or oil.
  4. Heat mixture on 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
  5. Spread chocolate into an even layer on the prepared pan.
  6. Top with desired toppings.
  7. Chill to set then break into pieces.
