Mexican Chocolate Sauce

    You could also serve this over Churro Cake if desired.

Ingredients

    .1 1/4 c half-and-half

  1. 1/4 c packed dark brown sugar
  2. 2 T unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1/2 t vanilla extract
  4. 1/4 t ancho chile powder
  5. pinch of salt
  6. 4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  7. cinnamon sugar chips, or cinnamon graham crackers for dipping

Instructions

  1. Combine the half-and-half, brown sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, ancho chile powder and salt in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat; cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, 2 to 4 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate. Let stand 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  4. Serve with graham crackers or cinnamon sugar chips.
