Tres Leches Cake

  1. 1 (16.5 oz) box yellow extra moist cake mix
  2. 1 1/4 c water
  3. 1 T vegetable oil
  4. 2 t vanilla
  5. 4 eggs
  6. 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  7. 1 c evaporated milk or whole milk
  8. 1 c whipping cream
  9. Frosting

  10. 1 recipe Cool Whip Frosting
  11. Fruit Topping

  12. strawberries
  13. blueberries



  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan).
  2. Grease and flour or spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan.
  3. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  4. Pour into pan.
  5. Bake as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan.
  6. Let stand 5 minutes.
  7. Poke top of hot cake every 1/2 inch with long-tined fork, wiping fork occasionally to reduce sticking.
  8. In large bowl, stir together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and whipping cream.
  9. Carefully pour evenly over top of cake.
  10. Cover; refrigerate about 1 hour or until mixture is absorbed into cake.
  11. Frost with frosting.
  12. Store covered in refrigerator.
  13. Serve with fruit topping.
  14. Fruit Topping

  15. Cut strawberries into small pieces.
  16. Combine strawberries and blueberries in a bowl, chill until serving.
