Kentucky Gravy

    This gravy goes well with Smashed Potatoes!


  1. 1/2 c Maker's Mark Bourbon
  2. 6 T soy sauce, reduced sodium
  3. 1 t fresh ginger, finely grated or minced
  4. 1 t garlic, minced
  5. 1 T shallots, minced
  6. 1/4 c heavy cream


  1. Combine bourbon, soy sauce, ginger, and shallots in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for several minute, until mixture starts to thicken into a pan sauce.
  3. Whisk in the heavy cream, cook until hot.
