Waffled Pizza Dippers

Ingredients

  1. 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  2. 1 oz Parmesan cheese, shredded
  3. 1/2 t dried basil
  4. 1/2 t dried oregano leaves
  5. 2 (8oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  6. 32 small pepperoni slices
  7. 14 oz jar pizza sauce
  8. nonstick spray

Instructions

  1. Heat wafle maker to medium heat and spray with nonstick spray.
  2. Unroll both cans of dough onto work surface. Separate each crosswise, making 8 (7x6 in) rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal.
  3. Layer 8 slices of pepperoni on to each of 4 of the dough rectanges.
  4. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Sprinkle with basil and oregano.
  6. Cover with 4 remaining dough rectangles.
  7. Carefully place 1 dough rectangle packet onto the waffle iron. Close the iron.
  8. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. When cooked, remove waffle from iron with a spatula, place on a cutting board.
  10. Cool for 30 seconds and cut into 8 triangles.
  11. Garnish with additional cheese, oregano, or basil, if desired.
  12. Serve with warmed pizza sauce.
