Gelato Affogato

    Affogato means "drowned" in Italian, so you are drowning the gelato in your espresso!

    You can make this drink with your favorite flavor of gelato, or you can use ice cream if you prefer.

    If you do not have an espesso machine, you can use very strong black coffee.

    This makes a nice light dessert.


  1. 1 pint of your favorite gelato: some good choices are:coffee chocolate chip, salted caramel, or pistachio
  2. 1/2 c brewed espresso, hot


  1. Place two small scoops of gelato in a glass.
  2. Pour, or brew hot espresso on top.
  3. Serve immediately with spoons.
