Ingredients

    Pizzelle

  1. 1/2 c Crisco shortening, melted
  2. 2/3 c sugar
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 1 3/4 c flour, sifted
  5. 1 t baking powder
  6. 1 t vanilla extract or 1 t anise extract
  7. Chocolate Version

  8. 1/4 c cocoa powder
  9. 1/4 c sugar
  10. 1/4 t baking powder

Instructions

    Pizzelle

  1. Preheat Pizzel Iron. Spray with nonstick spray.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in the order listed.
  3. Place 1 T batter in the center of the iron.
  4. Bake for 1 minute and 15 seconds.
  5. Remove from iron and cool on rack.
  6. Once completely cooled, store in an airtight container.
  7. Chocolate Version

  8. Add cocoa powder, additional sugar, and additional baking powder with the other dry ingredients.
