Teriyaki Marinade

  1. 3/4 c soy sauce
  2. 1/4 c brown sugar
  3. 1/4 c water
  4. 1/4 c rice wine vinegar
  5. 1 T sesame oil
  6. 3 garlic cloves, minced
  7. 1 (1 inch) piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  8. 1 lb beef or chicken cubed


  1. Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, whisking constantly.
  2. Place in the refrigerator until completely cool.
  3. Combine with the beef or chicken in a gallon-sized zipper lock bag. Toss until meat is well coated.
  4. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
