Mint Juleps

    Mint Infused Simple Syrup

  1. Fresh mint (a nice big bunch), rinsed and dried
  2. 2 c of water (preferably purified)
  3. 2 c sugar
  4. Mint Julep

  5. premium bourbon whiskey (we like Blanton's or Maker's Mark)
  6. crushed ice


    Mint Infused Simple Syrup

  1. In a saucepan, combine water and sugar and boil together for about 5 minutes until it is clear. stirring occasionally.
  2. Place 1/4 c of the mint leaves in a glass container, pour the simple syrup over them and allow the mixture to cool (the longer the better for the best minty flavor).
  3. Refrigerate overnight, if possible.
  4. Remove the mint from the syrup, store in refrigerator till needed.
  5. Mint Julep

  6. When ready to serve, half fill a julep cup with crushed ice.
  7. Add 1 Tablespoon of the syrup to the cup.
  8. Add 2 oz of bourbon to the cup.
  9. Filll to the top with more crushed ice.
  10. Stir, and garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
  11. Enjoy!
