Funnel Cakes

Ingredients

  1. 1 egg
  2. 2/3 c milk
  3. 1 c flour
  4. 2 T sugar
  5. 1t baking powder
  6. 1/4 t salt
  7. powdered sugar for sprinkling
  8. vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat a pot of oil to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, beat egg with milk.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
  4. Gradually add the milk mix into the flour mix, beating constantly until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour batter into funnel, holding hole with finger.
  6. Remove finger from funnel and drop batter into hot oil, using a circular movement from center of skillet.
  7. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  8. Remove funnel cake and place on paper plate.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
