Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

  1. 1/2 c butter, softened
  2. 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  3. 2 c flour, divided
  4. 2/3 c sugar
  5. 1 egg
  6. 1/2 t baking powder
  7. 1/2 t vanilla
  8. 1/4 t almond extract
  9. Glaze

  10. 2 c powdered sugar
  11. 1 T light corn syrup
  12. 2-3 T milk


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine butter and cream cheese, beat with an electric mixer for 30 seconds.
  3. Add 1/2 of the flour, sugar, egg, baking powder, vanilla extract, almond extract, and beat until combined.
  4. Beat or stir in remaining flour.
  5. Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic wrap.
  6. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours until firm, or overnight.
  7. On lightly floured surface, roll 1 portion of chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Using cutters, cut into desired shapes.
  8. Place cookies on baking sheet.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are lightly brown and cookies are puffed.
  10. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  11. Glaze

  12. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and corn syrup.
  13. Add milk to desired consistency.
  14. Frost cookies.
