Honey Sesame Chicken (slow cooker)

  1. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  2. salt
  3. pepper
  4. 1 c honey
  5. 1/2 c soy sauce
  6. 1/2 c onion, diced
  7. 1/4 c ketchup
  8. 2 T vegetable oil
  9. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  10. 1/4 t red pepper flakes
  11. 4 t cornstarch, dissolved in 6 T water
  12. sesame seeds, toasted
  13. rice or noodles, cooked to package directions for serving
  14. green onions, chopped for garnish, if desired


  1. Season both sides of chicken lightly, with salt and pepper, place in slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour over chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on Low: 3 to 4 hours or on High: 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, or just until chicken is cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken from slow cooker, leave sauce.
  6. Pour in cornstarch mixture. Stir to combine with sauce.
  7. Replace cover and cook sauce on High for 10 more minutes or until slightly thickened.
  8. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces, then return to pot and toss with sauce before serving.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over rice or noodles.
  10. Top with green onions, if desired
