Mushroom Bake

    You can use 4 (12 oz) pkgs of mushrooms and double the remaining ingredients.

    This recipe is great served with steak!


  1. 1 lb mushrooms, trimmed
  2. 2 beef bouillon cubes
  3. 1/2 c hot water
  4. 2 oz butter, 1/2 stick, plus 1 T butter, divided
  5. 2 T flour
  6. 1/2 c heavy cream
  7. 1/8 t salt
  8. dash pepper
  9. 1/2 c bread crumbs
  10. 3/4 c Parmesan cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In large skillet, saute mushrooms in 1 T butter, set aside.
  3. Disolve bouillon cubes in water, set aside.
  4. In saucepan, melt 1/2 stick of butter, blend in flour to make light roux.
  5. Add cream, salt, pepper and beef broth.
  6. In a greased casserole dish, combine mushrooms and broth mixture.
  7. In a small bowl, mix to combine, bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Sprinkle cheese mixture on top of casserole.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
