Candied Almonds

  1. 1 c almonds
  2. 3 T dark brown sugar
  3. 1/4 t salt


  1. Prehead a medium cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the almonds and toast, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar and salt over the almonds and cook, stirring almost continuously with a wooded spoon, until the brown sugar is completely melted and darkened in color, watch so it doesn't burn, 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Spread in single layer on parchment lined baking sheet, let cool, break up large clumps.
