Morning Snack Mix

    This mixture can be put in individual ziploc bags for single sized portions.

    Substitute 3 c of trail mix, such as: Wild Roots Forest Berry Premium Trail Mix (cashews, almonds, cranberries, yogurt chips, etc.) for the nuts and dried fruits if desired.


  1. 1 c packed brown sugar
  2. 1/2 c butter
  3. 2 T light con syrup
  4. 1/2 t salt
  5. 1 t vanilla
  6. 1/2 t baking soda
  7. 3 c Cheerios
  8. 2 c miniature pretzel twists
  9. 2 c Corn Chex Cereal
  10. 2 c almonds, cashews or peanuts (any combination)
  11. 1 c dried cranberries or raisins
  12. nonstick cooking spray


  1. Line two 15x10x1 inch pans with foil; coat foil with nonstick cooking spray. Set pans aside.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.
  3. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat to medium; cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionaly.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  6. Stir in Cheerios, and Corn Chex.
  7. Stir in pretzels, nuts, and dried fruit, until coated.
  8. Divide cereal mixture between the prepared baking pans; cool.
  9. Break mixtrure apart into bite-sized pieces.
  10. Transfer to a resealable plastic bag or an airtight storage container; seat or cover tightly.
  11. Let mixture stand at room temperature overnight.
